...wow. That is outrageous (kinda looks a little dangerous), but hope everyone got their console!
Agreed. Unlike MS, Sony has a huge stable of first-party studios who are going to accomplish MAGNIFICENT things on PS4 throughout its lifespan.
Don't get me wrong, I have an Xbox One, and am loving Dead Rising 3 and even Ryse - while looking forward to Titanfall etc. But when Sony rolls out their heavy hitters like Uncharted, The Order and an Egyptian-themed God Of War (please please please!), I'm marching straight down to the high street with my latest paycheck and a...
Depends really - a 6 means different things to different sites. From Dealspwn's rating system:
"6 – CAPABLE: The key thing to remember here is always try before you buy. There'll likely be some rather glaring flaws or perhaps a distinct lack of imagination, but games that earn a 6 will generally be very capable indeed and probably still provide a good deal of fun to genre fans."
It's not about the microtransactions themselves, it's about how the game has been broken in order to support them with its short grindy levels.
Nice to see a few dissenting opinions. Thoroughly enjoyed LBW myself, but it definitely felt a little lazy at times - falling back on LTTP rather than using it as a springboard for something more.
Man, the paint-wall-walking is awesome though.
Close-run thing that. Enjoying LBW more than Twilight for sure (yay! colour!), but feel like it's a bit of a nostalgia trip sometimes. Plus, not entirely sold on that rental side of things yet, but I think that'll change once I buy more of the items outright.
Agreed voted btw - Majora's Mask is outstanding and doesn't get anywhere near enough love. I would ADORE an HD revamp of that one.
Has worked and is working fine for me. The only issue is code redemption and CoD: Ghosts' squad assault mode.
Where did they pluck that number out of? Loving my Xbox One, but how can you assign a number to a console designed to last a decade? What is the score in context with? Why... why?
It's annoying that so many sites are DESPERATELY reaching for a hardware failure story. First generation consumer electronics always have a few defects - it's a fact of life - and both PS4/X1 seem to be well within acceptable risks.
Kinda embarrassing, really - but for numerous websites, not Sony.
I'm enjoying Kinect, TBH. It's not exactly the slickest thing ever, and god knows it REALLY should have been smaller, but it's just really... fun.
That said, I'd have forgotten about it if the installs weren't taking so damn long, maybe.
BTW, Xbox One Skype is outstanding. Really cool, even tracks you around the room.
Yeah, the problem is that downloading updates is an automatic and hidden part of the installation process - and XBL is getting an absolute pounding since the UK has got back from work and the US has woken up - it's gonne get worse before it gets better.
Hang in there. I'd suggest installing all the smaller apps and stuff first! Spent a couple hours just playing with Kinect.
Erm, not entirely sure if you read the article?
"Everyone seems to forget about the third-party titles around launch. For either console, players are going to be throwing their cash at Battlefield 4, COD: Ghosts, FIFA 14 and Assassin’s Creed IV. These games will keep PS4 gamers going until next year when the likes of Infamous: Second Son and DriveClub (PS+ Edition at least) arrive. Add there’s the new Uncharted to look forward too.
The above third-party ...
Dunno, I still don't entirely trust user reviews/scores (though I always check on Amazon). In my experience, people only tend to post these when they either really love or really hate a game, rather than giving a balanced opinion (or, erm, just voting on games before they've even played them).
But, you know, I hope Ryse actually turns out to be decent. I'm a fan of Gladiator and Spartacus, so a decent Roman-themed brawler would be nice. Not holding out much hope m...
With all due to RSI and Cloud Imperium, there's not really much of a game yet! Let's try out the alpha first and then worry about dumbing down, eh?
That's a good point, well made, actually. It depends how you couch the discussion I suppose.
Valid points all, but the article isn't comparing XBL to PSN - it's comparing the subscription packages (i.e. XBL GOLD to PS+).
It's a UK site, though yeah, "it" reads better.
Cancel next-gen. I'm going to be busy.
Why... is there a score... on a console that hasn't even released yet? How can you put a number on a machine that will realise its potential over several years?
Review's actually rather positive IMO.
Power doesn't come into it: the PS2 was so successful because it was easy and convenient to develop for and publish on - meaning that it could secure a huge number of great games. The PS4 seems to be taking that tack too with its simple unified architecture and indie incentives - so I am agreeing with you, there's definitely potential for another golden age here.
Don't get me wrong, though, I'm not saying that getting a seriously powerful machine for £349...
